Bad Alibi Dairy Goats will only sell goats in pairs unless you already have goats. Goats are herd animals and need companions. We sell our goats for showing, milking or pets. We care a great deal about our goats and want them to have happy, healthy homes. All goats are disbudded by a vet under mild sedation with local anesthesia and vaccinated for CD/T before leaving.
Every animal will come to you will freshly trimmed hooves, a dose of probios and vitamin b complex to help them deal with the stress of moving to a new home. We also will provide you with a few days of food/milk to help them acclimate to your feeding program.
Reservations
Bad Alibi Dairy Goats maintains the right to retain any goat born on our farm before filling reservations. We do our best to fill our reservations, but we have no control over what is born. Kids are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis off of our reservation list. Deposits will be taken once kids are born. Once your goat has been born or becomes available you will be contacted. We ask that you respond within 24 hours or we will move on to the next person on the list.
Deposit/Payment
We prefer to dam raise our babies unless there are extraordinary circumstances and we suggest you wait to pick up your kid until weaning at 8-12 weeks old, depending on the kid (some may need extra time). Any goat not picked up by the pre-set date or weaning will be charged $2 per day boarding fee. Any goat not picked up by the arranged date will result in all deposits being forfeited and the goat being put back up for sale. Deposits are non-refundable. Once we have received a deposit on a goat it will be marked as “Sale Pending”. Final payment must be made before the goat leaves our farm. If you choose to pay with a check, please contact us so that we can tell you who to write the check to (we are not a business, just hobbyists). If you are paying for final payment at pick up, payment must me made with cash or Paypal. Once final payment is made there will be no refunds. If you choose to make payments or installments towards your purchase then once those payments are received, there will be no refunds.
* Payments will be refunded in full if we cancel the sale, or if you are otherwise entitled to receive a refund under the terms of our purchase and sale agreement. Otherwise all payments are non-refundable.
** In case of illness or injury to your reserved goat prior to pick up, the sale will be postponed or cancelled at our discretion. You may also choose to cancel the sale under these circumstances, and you will receive a full refund, or you may transfer any payments to another purchase if we mutually agree.
Health Certificates and Transport
Transport is the at the buyer’s expense. We will do our very best to meet a transporter within 1 hour from our location. Health certificates are available at the buyer’s expense. The cost of health certificates, as well as any other testing, is the responsibility of the buyer. Please let us know in advance if you need a health certificate as it requires a vet visit and must be scheduled in advance. Multiple goats going to the same location can share one Health Certificate (and split the cost). We will test our herd for CAE annually. We also test annually for Johne’s via group fecal PCR test. All of our adult goats have been tested at least once for CL (with negative results) and have a Veterinary abscess check annually. The entire herd is G6S normal, either by parentage or testing. We can perform additional testing above and beyond our routine testing at the buyer’s expense.
*** Depending on your state, additional tests may be required and will be at the buyer's expense (Click here for your state's requirements)
Registration
Our Mini Nubians are registered with MDGA and some are dual registered with TMGR. Kids are sold with the registration applications or final registration certificate. Adults are sold with the registration certificate unless for some reason they are no longer able to be bred, in which case no registration paperwork will be transferred. It is the buyer’s responsibility to pay the registration and transfer fees.
Guarantee
We guarantee our goats are healthy when they leave us. We do not have control over what happens once they leave our farm and make no guarantees once they have left our property. However, we are more than happy to help new owners and love to keep in touch to find out how they are doing!
Housing & Vet Care
No goat will leave unless we agree that you already lined up with a ruminant vet and prepared good enough housing and fencing at your property.
