Welcome to Sunnybrook Alpacas
Sunnybrook Alpacas, located in Southeastern Pennsylvania (approximately 1 hour North & West of Philadelphia), was founded in 2009 when Carol purchased four female alpacas. Through additional strategic purchases and selective breedings, the herd continues to grow. The goal of Sunnybrook Alpacas is to improve the US alpaca herd one alpaca at a time with a focus on animal health and well-being, conformation and fiber excellence.
So how did Sunnybrook come to be? It all started from the saying "you can take the girl out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl." I never realized how true that statement was until I grew up and left the family farm. After years (more than I'd like to admit) away from the farm, I began to really miss the country lifestyle.
Some friends purchased a small farm, and began building their herd of alpacas and llamas. I found myself spending more and more time on their farm with these amazing animals, and the desire to return to the country lifestyle began to develop in earnest. When I realized that I could begin building my herd even before I had the actual farm property (by agisting my animals), Sunnybrook Alpacas was born.
The alpacas have now come "home" to live with us on our own farm. I invite you to schedule a time to visit Sunnybrook Alpacas and experience for yourself the lure of these amazing animals ... and the country lifestyle!
