Judge's Choice, ESTATES PICASSO'S DUKE MALAGA - 2023 TxOLAN Sweetheart Spectacular: Halter, Judges Choice Huacaya Male (Class of 7) (Judge: Robin Nasemann) Judge's comments: "It's been a really good weekend and I really enjoyed going through your alpacas.  The quality was really, really good.  I think this is the best sleeve I've ever had!  The samples, the fineness is just great.  The consistency and the quality in all the different colors is amazing, from the grey to the white.  It's really, really fine.  The top two are these in the middle.  I really like their fleeces.  the fineness, they are so, so uniform in micron and they are so fine.  Today this male has the advantage."

Color Champion, ESTATES PICASSO'S DUKE MALAGA - 2023 TxOLAN Sweetheart Spectacular: Halter, Huacaya Light Male Championship (Class of 21) (Judge: Robin Nasemann) Judge's comments: "That was very good.  That was extremely a lot of fun to go through the alpacas.  The champion here is just "super fine."  He's the finest of these.  He came from the yearling class.  He's really, really uniform of the micron.  He is very fine, very soft.  Super organized structure and he has that very correct type.  A very nice conformation kind of style.  I really like him!  I was so impressed with that uniform micron.  I took a second sample as you can see and the belly is practically the same.  Nice!  That's awesome!  Congratulations!"

1st Place, ESTATES PICASSO'S DUKE MALAGA - 2023 TxOLAN Sweetheart Spectacular: Halter, Huacaya Light Fawn Yearling Male (Class of 4) (Judge: Robin Nasemann) Judge's comments: "I start the class with a clear class winner.  Look at this male!  Just from the outside, look at his head style, its proportions.  He's very correct, but the more exciting thing about him is the fineness.  The quality of fineness and the density.  The density is...You can see the staples in the structure which indicates the density, and these are very easy to see across the whole blanket now.  Very impressed with that density, that amount of fiber.  This male is packed in it.  Well done!"

3rd Place, ESTATES CAMERON SEBASTIAN - 2023 TxOLAN Sweetheart Spectacular: Halter, Huacaya True Black Yearling Male (Class of 4) (Judge: Robin Nasemann) Judge's comments:  "not showing the same degree of organization as the first two alpacas, but he had a little bit more substance in the fleece and was a little finer."

3rd Place, ESTATES LOYAL JUSTICE XXX - 2023 TxOLAN Sweetheart Spectacular: Halter, Huacaya Fawn Juvenile Male (Class of 4) (Judge: Robin Nasemann) Judge's comments: "Micron was the placing point between 2nd and 3rd.  I was still very pleased with the fineness and brightness of this fleece, and you were more structured and also showing more brightness in that fleece."

3rd Place, ESTATES MATEO THE MAGNIFICENT - 2023 TxOLAN Sweetheart Spectacular: Halter, Huacaya Black Juvenile Male (Class of 7) (Judge: Robin Nasemann) Judge's comments:  "I like the structure and density from all of the animals at the top of the class...this male's staple is a little tighter, a little more fiber packed, softer fleece and finer also than 4th place."

3rd Place, ESTATES PICASSO'S FAMOUS PAINTING - 2023 TxOLAN Sweetheart Spectacular: Halter, Huacaya Brown Yearling Male (Class of 6) (Judge: Robin Nasemann) Judge's comments: "I really appreciate the fineness in this class.  I have to say I'm very impressed with this fineness. Jaw alignment is really, really good.  I like his head style.  I like his conformation.  I like his strength.  I was very pleased with his conformation."

3rd Place, THOR FARMS MORRIGAN BY INNSBRUCK - 2023 TxOLAN Sweetheart Spectacular: Halter, Huacaya Med. Brown Yearling Female (Class of 8) (Judge: Robin Nasemann).  Judge's comments: "This was a very good group all the way down to 6th place.  It was very tough to judge because they were so even in quality across the whole group.  Very, very beautiful in style and also very uniform in micron.  If you look at my sleeve, the samples are very similar in micron, thats very positive to see and also conformationally strong, so well-done.  She is very compact; I like the compactness of this alpaca.  I like the head style.  The proportions are very correct, so that's positive to see.  She was quite fine, nice staple organization, definition and density."

Color Champion, ESTATES PICASSO'S DUKE MALAGA - 2023 TxOLAN Bluebonnet Stakes: Halter, Huacaya Light Male Championship (Class of 20) (Judge: Helen Testa) Judge's comments:  "Such a soft, uniform, fine, dense fleece and it is really consistent.  It's super uniform on my sleeve and everywhere.  It really corresponds to my hand.  He has a really pleasing style to the head here, length of level of fineness that is top line...Just really super impressed with the fineness and uniformity that I'm seeing there.  I'm a big fan of that.  I'm really pleased with both these two males, and I encourage you to take a look at them when they leave the ring."

1st Place, ESTATES PICASSO'S DUKE MALAGA - 2023 TxOLAN Bluebonnet Stakes: Halter, Huacaya Light Fawn Yearling Male (Class of 3) (Judge: Helen Testa) Judge's comments:  "This male really caught my eye when he walked in.  I really appreciate the style of his head.  He is very true to type.  When I look at him conformationally, he checks all the boxes for me.  When I look at the balance and proportion, he has good bone under him as well.  He has a fine fleece, has good uniformity in the sample I pulled, as well as to my hand.  I appreciate the length to the staple and the fact that he is carrying that length all the way down to his extremities."

1st Place, ESTATES SAKIMA'S KARLENE - 2023 TxOLAN Bluebonnet Stakes: Halter, Huacaya Black Juvenile Female (Class of 6) (Judge: Helen Testa) Judge's Comments:  "This female was the clear class winner when I put both the conformation and fleece together.  She has a beautiful soft handling fleece.  The fineness is there.  She's got density and beautiful character across the fleece.  Conformationally she is balanced.  Beautiful type to her head.  A nice little top line.  Congratulations to you."

1st Place, THOR FARMS MORRIGAN BY INNSBRUCK - 2023 TxOLAN Bluebonnet Stakes: Halter, Huacaya Brown Yearling Female (Class of 9) (Judge: Helen Testa) Judge's comments: "The first-place winner is edging out the group in terms of that fineness.  She's got a very fine fleece.  The density is great for the relative fineness and when I get into the fiber, I'm working it down into the extremities and seeing the same expression of architecture.  So just super, super softness to this fleece.  The highest degree of fineness in the class, so congratulations to you.  She's nice and level in her top length, squared off in her appearance, so congratulations on your first place."

2nd Place, AMBER AUTUMN CADENCE - 2023 TxOLAN Bluebonnet Stakes: Halter, Huacaya Brown Juvenile Male (Class of 4) (Judge: Helen Testa) Judge's comments: "This was a really competitive class between the top three males in the ring.  Coming right behind the 1st place male, this male certainly has a beautiful style to his head, and he's got great substance of bone.  He has a lovely structure throughout his fleece.  It's very soft as well...really love the overall handle...down into his extremities."

Fawn Yearling Female (Class of 10) (Judge: Helen Testa) Judge's comments: "She is a little smaller in stature, a little sleighter in frame than the female that stood above her, but she's carrying a lot of fiber on that frame.  It's fine.  It's got a good, even architecture, and good consistency across that fleece."

 Judge's Comments:  "(Speaking about 1st & 2nd place animals) This is a nice high-quality pair due to the development between the two of you.  Well done.  Both really solid bodies.  Great muscles, good bite, all that contributes to a great degree of density and the end goal.  A bit more fleece being put out on this little bigger male (1st place) with a little greater length and just some areas where it’s really stamped out just nice image and quality all the way around. So well done. And (2nd place) has that same style.  We can’t say enough about this guy also.  He was really solid and just a great look and consistency and this whole fleece and character throughout.  Just a little bit of difference in the hand (compared to 1st place).  A slight difference between the top two."
