Old Fashioned Goat Sausage Casserole
This spin on a traditional breakfast casserole mingles flaky country style or buttermilk biscuits, sausage or country gravy, breakfast goat sausage, scrambled eggs, and shredded cheese. Use goat sausage crumbles or sliced breakfast sausage links. All sorts of yummy, flaky and gooeyness in an easy to make casserole. Perfect for a cool or cold Christmas morning breakfast, depending on where you live in the world. And it can feed a small army depending on who is crashing at your pad overnight.
Ingredients
Olive Oil Spray 8-oz goat sausage 1 can homestyle or buttermilk biscuits 1 package sausage or country gravy 1 cup grated cheese 12 eggs Salt and pepper to taste
Garnish with sour cream and rojo or verde salsa. |
Cooking Instructions
1. In a pan, brown sausage, over low heat using olive oil spray, until meat is cooked through. 2. Mix gravy according to package instructions. 3. Spray 9" x 13" glass dish with olive spray. Place biscuits in bottom of dish. Sprinkle sausage over biscuits and poor gravy over biscuits and sausage. 4. In a bowl, whisk eggs until smooth. Poor eggs over contents in glass dish. 5. Bake on 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
