Welcome to Blossom View Goats
We are located on a farm south of Union City (16438) and west of Canadohta Lake Pennsylvania, in Crawford County. I started raising goats in '09, just mixed meat and dairy. I obtained my first Myotonic in '14 and fell in love! I sold out of the mixed herd. Finally became a certified Myotonic breeder with MGR in '17. Since then I've been working towards bettering my Myotonic herd. We have MGR Registered Myotonics!
The Myotonic breed has by far became my favorite breed out of any I have raised. They are easy to keep fenced. My herd free ranges quite often for hours, once done grazing they head back into the fence to the barn. They have awesome personalities and are quite amusing to watch throughout the day. I honestly can't think of any other breed I'd rather have!
Myotonics don't always faint. It is a muscle condition called myotonia congenita, a hereditary condition which may cause it to stiffen or fall over when startled. Some don't stiffen or faint at all, Some stiffen but don't fall, and some will stiffen quite often and fall.
The Myotonics are generally used as more of a meat type breed. I know of a few people that use them for their milk and also make soaps and cheese.
They make awesome pets too!
