2023 In Review!
2023 was a rollercoaster of a year with many very exciting events!
The New Year began with show prep. We incorporated a new training method, and all four youngsters were a pleasure to train.
February was our snowy season, but that didn’t stop us from weaning our 2022 cria in preparation for our first show in April.
March brought some much-needed sunshine and plenty of opportunity to get out and enjoy all of our farm critters.
In April, we started our spring showing at the CABA Classic. We also sheared all of our animals, revealing some breathtaking fleeces.
In May, cria season started, and we welcomed a beautiful, modern, grey female cria, Rory.
In June, we attended the PNAA Summer ED Conference with guest speaker Cheryl Gehly. June also marked the beginning of our breeding season. We introduced Laszlo to his first dates in June, and he is now expecting 6 cria in 2024.
In July, we traveled to Burlington, KY, where we volunteered at the National Alpaca Fleece Show. Back at the farm, we welcomed a gorgeous true black female cria, Alora.
August was a “quiet” month for us. No crias born, no shows to participate in, no conferences to attend. But no month is truly quiet here on the farm.
In September, Kristen traveled to CA, where she was the superintendent at the CALPACA fleece show. We also welcomed two gorgeous crias in September, Ellie and King.
In October, we started our fall showing and kicked it off with Laszlo winning Color Champion White Male at the Gold Country Gathering in CA!
In November, we ran our second PNAA IFA Fleece Show. Our Honour took Reserve champion grade 1 Huacaya Fawn, and Reverence took color champion!!
To end the year, we traveled to Crescent Moon Ranch and picked up our two girls, Angel and Gracie, and their kiddos.
That is our 2023 year in a wrap. It has many, many exciting events, and we can’t wait to see what 2024 brings us – more cria, more shows, more events, more FUN!
