Wilson Squared Farm is nestled in the Ottawa Valley just north-west of Canada's national capital. The farm has been in the family for generations and has supported various kinds of livestock and crops over the years. Since 2008, we have raised Tibetan Yak.
We currently maintain a small herd of animals. Yak are not commonly found in our region, so are somewhat of a novelty. People often stop to watch them graze in the fields. Our yak are pastured on grass three seasons of the year and fed hay during the winter months. They are raised without hormones and are provided free-choice mineral supplements.
Our foundation bull and cow were Imperial Trim, but both carried the recessive gene for black and white royal colouring and have produced some wonderful calves.
