Evidence Based & Purpose Bred
Welcome to Forget the Paint Alpacas. This is a small breeding program located in the Edson area focused on producing animals that are intended to be excellent "all-rounder's". My hope is to produce alpacas who are above all sound in conformation; enjoy consistent, high quality fleece production with longevity; who sport highly tractable temperaments. I use evidence based practices to inform my breeding decisions, and find great pleasure in identifying the best niche each individual animal may fill as I work towards the goal of producing a well rounded herd of animals that could meet almost any future programs needs.
Presently, we compete in Fleece and Halter shows across Western Canada, with much of the herd having been proven in the ring. Outside of the ring, many of my animals have experience participating in PR work, contributing to educational events, and several are in the preliminary training process with the goal of meeting the criteria for certification as therapy animals. I am a shearer and a fibre artist, with experience processing much of the herd's clip by hand, from shearing to spinning and beyond.
I am an active supporter and member of the Canadian alpaca industry, with active memberships with Alpaca Canada, the Canadian Llama and Alpaca Association (CLAA), and the Alberta Livestock Producers and Cooperators Association (A.L.P.A.C.A.), in addition to international memberships with the Alpaca Owners Association (AOA).
I am passionate about these animals, their well-being, and the industry, and am always happy to answer any questions or provide any support I can to anyone interested in or new to alpacas.

2024 Show Season Wrap
As we close out 2024 and look towards the upcoming year, I am pleased to report that our 2024 Show Season was both quite busy, and an overwhelming success in our books!
Of the 6 shows entered this year (3 halter, 3 fleece), and the 5 animals campaigned from our little program, I could not be prouder to report that our animals brought home 1 Colour Championship, 4 Reserve Championships, 3x 1st places, 3x 2nd places, 5x 3rd places, and 3x 4th places.
It was the show ring debut for K2, Poe (MoreThanRoyal), and Enkidu, who collectively took home 2 of those Reserve Championships, 2 of the 2nds, 3 of the 3rds, and 3 of the 4ths in what we're exceptionally competitive classes across the board. Zephyr and Nemios did not disappoint as they continue to remain competitive as machos entering their breeding years, with Zephyr earning a colour championship and 2 reserve championships this past year, and Nemios continuing to place as competitively in those fawn classes alongside Zephyr.
This was an exciting season and it was a pleasure showing alongside some stunning animals in highly competitive classes, and sharing those experiences with fantastic breeders. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season and new year, and look forward to seeing everyone again in the ring come spring, 2025!
