SELLING MY HERD DUE TO DICK'S RECENT DEATH
About All Things Alpaca, LLC (formerly Alpacas of the Covenant, Inc.)
It isn't every day that as a small breeder, your cria is on the cover of Alpacas Magazine. That's ACOV Accoyo Greyback's Gabriel, a grandson of CPeruvian Accoyo Express 0222. (Photo taken by Julie Bodette Verhelst, Sunny Meade Alpacas Ltd., my sister.)
We have now been in the alpaca business for 20 years. As a child, Kimberly grew up on a horse farm. It didn't take long after her sister, Julie Bodette Verhelst (Sunny Meade Alpacas) bought her first alpacas in 1998, that Kimberly wanted one for her very own. Soon after, Alpacas of the Covenant, Inc. was formed. (We are retired Presbyterian ministers, hence the name.) Our herd has consisted of some of the top national bloodlines from top breeders...Snowmass Peruvian Casanova, El Nino's Accoyo Michelangelo, IncaAccoyo Star, CPeruvian Jaxon, Peruvian Magnum, Accoyo Express, and PPervian Camilio.
In addition to being alpaca breeders, Kimberly and her sister formed All Things Alpaca, LLC. They are the creators and distributors of the Alpaca Fleece-filled Bird Nesting Ballâ„¢ (PATENTED and registered trademarked). The nesting ball is a 4" diameter grapevine handcrafted with alpaca fiber for wild birds. Sold throughout the US and in Canada. You can learn more about purchasing the nesting ball for retail or for your farm store by going to www.allthingsalpacaonline.com.
We have been supporting the International Children's Network/Matsiko Children International and its work with orphaned and at-risk children in Peru since 2007. We believe in sharing our abundance. 10% of our profits go to charities which support the indigenous people of Peru. Throughout the year, we also support the Quechua Benefit through the retail sale of alpaca clothing. Visit www.icnchildren.net, www.quechuabenefit.org, and www.heifer.org for more information.
