Tierra Prometida Alpacas is located about 15 miles West of San Marcos, Texas on Ranch Road 32 between Austin and San Antonio. The ranch is situated on a winding, scenic ridge known locally as "The Devil's Backbone". Tierra Prometida is Spanish for "Promised Land" and the property is a haven for a rich variety of trees and birds...
We have learned to deal with the challenges (e.g. the heat) and the blessings (e.g. the mild winters) of this particular environment and enjoy sharing our experience and knowledge of alpacas with other breeders and alpaca enthusiasts alike.
Our mission and our passion at Tierra Prometida Alpacas is two-fold. It is and has always been to develop an exceptional herd of registered alpaca that exhibits elite characteristics in conformation, fleece, and temperament. We are also passionate about their well-being.
We have a herd that is entirely huacaya and consists of about 90 alpacas. We own and co-own several world classic Herdsires, including: TP Matrix Jubilee, Snow Diamond Perfect Storm, High Plains Tornado's Torrific, Snowmass Elite Legend, Irish Meadows' Raider and Red Granites Alydar By Val D Lsere, among many others.
Our mission at Tierra Prometida Alpacas is, and always has been, to develop an exceptional herd of pedigreed alpacas that exhibits elite characteristics in conformation, fleece and temperament. We have found that showing our alpacas on a nationally competitive level is a useful measuring stick for objectively assessing our breeding program in a world that is always raising the bar for excellence. Sometimes it is humiliating, but it is always inspiring!

Farm Terms & Financing
We can offer flexible/creative financing options. We usually require 25% down with options to pay the remainder over 1-2 years.
New Herdsire for Clients!
We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Red Granite Ranch in co-owning an amazing herd sire: Red Granites Alydar by Val D Lsere!
He is a modern dark rose grey (roan) and has won a Supreme Champion award and 10 Judges' Choice awards with numerous Color Championships...
His offspring are also top show winners and Championship winners too.
He will be standing stud here from Dec through April. He is available for a limited number of outside breedings.
