Welcome to Arrowhead Alpacas
Located along the banks of Bitter Creek near Powell, WY is the 175 acre ranch of Arrowhead Alpacas, home to over 100 alpacas, one llama and two camels. Since we believe that the clear, clean air of northwest Wyoming (Gateway to Cody and Yellowstone National Park), combined with the altitude and climate, best duplicate the natural habitat of the alpacas we relocated from Homestead, FL in 2006 to raise our herd here.
We feature the proven genetics of the Studmaster™ program in our herd in sires such as Godfather, Hemingway, Canadar, Juan Pablo and Gallant Deed. Our focus is to breed for animals that have good conformation and consistently produce high quality fleece, as well as continue to improve each generation of alpacas that follow. We believe so strongly in the alpaca industry and participating in it's growth and development, we also are co-founders of the Yellowstone Alpaca Breeders Association (YABA) for the tri-state area of Montana, Wyoming and Idaho.
It is our goal to provide you with full support and service. You will be able to choose from a wide selection of alpacas that will fit your needs. We will teach you alpaca care including: basic husbandry, barn and pasture layout, equipment needed, waste management, feeding, body scoring, weighing, toe nail trimming, teeth trimming, vaccinations, birthing, cria care, fleece handling, shearing and answering any other questions you may have. You can stay with us while you learn and practice these skills.
