Yaks in the mountains of Northern New Mexico
We raise yaks in the mountains around Chama, New Mexico, on ranches that have been in our family since the 1860s.
Our yaks live on open pasture, eat mountain grass and drink clear stream and river water.
In the winter they are on our lower ranch, at about 6500 ft elevation. In the summer they go up to the mountain ranch, which ranges from 8500 ft to 10,500 ft.
We've had a great time raising yaks and selling yak meat all over the country. But life is moving on and it's time for me to retire from raising yaks and selling yak meat.
This is an excellent opportunity for somebody looking to enter the yak raising world. These animals are healthy, friendly, and live a great life.
We'll sell individual animals, with discounts on multiples, and a big discount for the whole herd.
