Mini Acres, many Choices
Alpacas are herd animals and have specific nutrition and environmental requirements. You must have at least three - of the same sex. A responsible breeder will never sell a baby (cria) without it's mother!
How did we get our name, you may ask? We started with miniature horses and less than an acre. The logo was designed with a miniature horse silhouette and the name we came up with. Fast forward to our youngest daughter coming home from a day's work in a local yarn shop exclaiming the qualities of alpaca yarn which led to the purchase of two boys (one of whom was Jack Daniels) from a local ranch. We quickly acquired some females and Jack Daniels proved that "liquor is quicker" and sired mostly females his first two years of service. Now the horse had to be moved to the side and an alpaca added to our logo.
We are both full time alpaca ranchers on a ten acre property with pasture, trees and in our home town of Turlock, California. We have had such an increase in interest in alpacas and their fiber, we sold our mini horses and concentrate on alpacas and llamas!
We did most of our showing in the Alpaca Lama Show Association (ALSA). Our favorite was in the Performance arena. LMM Shaggy had several Grand Championships under his belt and won the coveted title of California Grand Champion Alpaca at the 2018 California State Fair! LMM Amelia Earhart also has multiple Grand Championships, and was the 2015 California State Grand Champion. We have many Alpaca Owner Association banners in our herd's pedigrees as well. Entering Spin Off and Shorn Fleece show competitions in the Alpaca Owner's Association (AOA) are another areas we like to compete in.
We started a mill seveal years ago, specializing in core spun run yarn and dryer balls. We process our own as well as fiber from other alpaca ranches.

While I will soon be starting treatment for lymphoma, including chemotherapy every three weeks for a total of six treatments, we believe it’s essential to stay connected and engaged. We will begin booking tours again in April.
