Welcome to Grace Acres Ranch
Thank you for taking time to visit our page on Openherd. Grace Acres Ranch became an idea around 2013, when we visited an alpaca farm in Modesto, CA, where we were lived. However, we had no place to raise them, so we sought to learn what we could to prepare ourselves for what we hoped would be a future endeavor. Fast forward to 2020, when we visited Northeast Kansas on a short exploration trip. We visited one property for sale and it happened to be a vacant alpaca ranch. With God speaking to us and leading us, we made an offer on that property and the whirlwind began.
In 2021 our family moved from California to Kansas and started our new lives as alpaca breeders. Our original herd consisted of four bred females. Since then, we have had seven alpacas born on our property. In August of 2023, we took another step forward and purchased two unproven sires in order to start a breeding program on our farm. Our herd currently sits at 13. In the fall of 2023 and spring of 2024 we bred three of our females to our new herdsires and we are anxiously awaiting our new crias.
In March of 2024, we started yet another chapter in the story of our ranch by entering our first show. With no real experience, we brought four of our animals for the weekend show. We learned a lot from everyone there, fellow breeders and judges alike, and are working towards more successful animals for future shows.
Our plan has always been to grow organically following the leading of God. Because of that, we are just now starting to branch out and create a presence online. Please be patient as we update our herd animals, listing some for sale and listing our herdsires. Please check back frequently for those updates. Also, we invite you to follow us on social media, as well, where we post regular updates and fun pictures and videos from our lives at Grace Acres Ranch.
