Spring show season 2015 has begun and Oh my my, what a start! First off, our lil Polaris son, Maverick, took home his 7th color champion ribbon at Alpacapalooza.... Unbelievable! Accoyo America's Kaballah really stepped up and grew up over the last winter. He took home a beautiful blue ribbon and Judge Arturo Pena commented on the buttery softness and the consistency throughout. This male truly looks incredible! On day 2 at the end of this wonderful event, the animals lined up for Judges ch read more...

It has been way to long since my last blog, so my new years resolution (the only one I have) is to write more. Over the past 2 months, Stoneberg Alpacas is getting exterior fencing up and secure. I've also been working on cross fencing as well as an additional shelter off our main barn to house the main female herd. The new addition will have a sliding door on each end as well as roof light panels and wall light panels. The whole goal is have a space for harsh winter(s)! As well as keep the read more...

Maverick attended Alpacapalooza 2014 with Sharon Loner judging males. As Leanne was on deck, I could see she was nervous. She was also worried Maverick would not do well. I told her to be confident and also said that, even though we are a small breeder, Maverick is a special alpaca. He is a Champion!
Maverick was the oldest in his class and was 1st up. As he entered the ring, he looked very good. Maverick has a crap ton of fleece on his body with a long staple. He is conformationally c read more...

It has been a while since we wrote on this blog. An update on our animals. Stoneberg's Peruvian Maverick is on his way to Best of the US Alpaca Show and The Nationals. Daryl And Shirley Krause of Amber Autumn Alpacas were kind enough to haul Maverick across county. We look forward to see how Maverick stacks up against the farms in Ohio and on the East Coast.
This year we are patiently awaiting 10 cria, with a variety of Elite genetics. We plan to get animal(s) into as many shows as possi read more...

Color Champion!
Maverick took the show circuit by storm this spring. He started out with a 1st place at Alpacapalooza. He went on to The Futurity in a tough class and took 4th. On to MAPACA for a 3rd place and then to GWAS for 2nd place. We re-joined Maverick at the CABA classic and he took another 1st place and RC right behind Crescent Moon's Augustine. Prior to the Championship class, I told Leanne she would be standing next to Debbie Miller. I did not guarantee a Championship, but we'll take the Reserv read more...

Alpacapalooza is just around the corner and Stoneberg's Rubi will be in the juvenile female medium fawn category. We are also deciding what blankets we want to submit. I've continued to halter train animals and this week started working with Summer Breeze. Amazingly she has trained only two days and hasn't done to bad. She likes to jump off her front feet to try and shake loose the halter. Unfortunately she doesn't realize it isn't going anywhere! After Summer Breeze will be Coconut and th read more...

I have started to prepare for multiple alpacas shows this spring located in the Northwest. The animal we plan to take is Stoneberg's Rubi, a medium fawn colored female. She has fine, dense fiber with long staple.
After three halter training days, Rubi is doing pretty good. She is walking and turning, but is a bit skiddish when sounds catch her off guard. The first show will be Alpacapalooza at the end of March. We will be sharing a stall with Paca Paradise Ranch and look forward to a suc read more...

Stoneberg Alpacas, LLC relocated to a 6.5 acre property in Nov. 2011. The property itself is good size, but will be a work in progress. Timber will need to be felled for starters. Even though there is work to be done, S.A. LLC will still have animals to buy and sell.
We will be attending multiple shows this season. Stoneberg's Rubi (mf) looks very promising with long staple, density and fineness. At first glance, her fiber is very uniform and I can't wait for shearing and fiber sortin read more...
