Well the spring show season is over (at least for me) and the alpacas are happy to be back home kicking up their legs and rolling around in the dirt!! Six alpacas traveled to the MOPAC show in Kansas City on March 29-30th. The following are the results of the alpacas that were taken to the show.

Fort Calhoun, NE- Move over cattle, corn, and soybeans. Alpacas might be the new cash crop for Nebraska. Just ask Sherri and Mike Jacoby. She and her husband have been farmers for nine years.
"We were driving and saw this lady walking some kind of animal with a harness. I didn't know what it was. I told my husband to turn around, and when we got out- I though it was going to give us a kiss!" she said.

National Alpaca Farm Day was a huge success once again this year. We had 1014 visitors over the weekend and went through over 70 pounds of carrots!! This was our sixth year participating in the event and each year it gets bigger and better. Everyone got time to spend with the alpacas, the weather was great, and many people were able to take home some wonderfully soft and unique alpaca gifts!!
