Our Farm
Welcomed to Cape County Alpacas!
We are located in Cape Girardeau County, Missouri, just outside the County Seat of Jackson.
We have been involved in agriculture our entire lives. When we were introduced to alpacas, the next step to starting an alpaca farm was a natural path to follow.
Our grandchildren love to work with these special animals. They can tell you exactly which ones will be the first to eat the food from your hand. Alpacas have no incisor teeth on the upper jaw and do not bite. With animals this sweet and calm, we have experienced no problems letting the kids and animals interact together.
Alpacas communicate mostly by humming, except for some sounds that are specific for breeding and alarm calls.
If an alpaca feels threatened, they may spit or even kick. It is important to avoid sudden movements, yelling, or strange animals to avoid alerting the alpacas.
