Kendall Creek Farms wins National Award
- Kendall Creek Farms wins National Award
We are proud and honored to report that Kendall Creek Farms was presented with the Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association, Classic Huacaya Cup for 2012.
This award is presented to the farm that scores the most points based on halter show results of a maximum of three alpacas at the annual National Alpaca Show.
We feel this small exhibitor category is very important as it represents the fact that many of the larger alpaca farms across the country show a dozen or more alpaca as a representation of the hundreds, or even thousands, they may have on their farm. In the case of Kendall Creek Farms, we may have only 10 cria a year and show half of them. Statistically speaking, their odds of hitting a “home run” are better with that many “at bats”.
In this instance, we took two of our five 2012 show string alpacas to nationals, and won two first place awards and a color championship. This is a testimony to our breeding program (aka Lori Works’ decision making) and helps to solidify our small farms’ place in the competitive alpaca community. Congratulation to Isla Saona and Optimus Prime for representing our farm so well.
