Yesterday we rounded up the Golden Royal Herd. Beautiful day it was and went very smooth. Separated the mommas from their babies with no problem. They enjoyed the little bit of a break, while we tagged their babies. We have 7 new babies; 4 Golden Royals, 2 Black Royals with a gold gene, and 1 Golden Trim. 3 are Bulls and 4 are female.
We brought home the 2 Black Royals to bottle feed. They are doing great today and have made great friends with Kota, the ever present border collie. She makes a read more...

We are back from the National Western Stock Show! We had a great time talking with everyone who visited with us. Thanks for your support of Yaks and DELYAKS!
We took 8 of our own Yaks to the Stock Show. We entered 5 of them in the Halter Show and all were entered in the Pen Show. Our Black Royal Yak Bull (I prefer to call him our White Royal Yak Bull) won First Place in the Pen and Halter Show.

The National Western Stock Show is fast approaching, and we are getting ready to attend. DELYAKS will be there January 21st until the 23rd. Will you be there to watch the Yak Halter Show on January 22nd or perhaps try some delicious yak meat? How about taking some home for the whole family to try. Yak meat is a naturally ultra-lean dark red meat (95% to 97% fat free overall) and is still very juicy due to it’s high percentages of Omega 3 oils, CLA’s ( Conjugated Linoleic Acids ), Oleic Acids,and Stearic Acids, (35% higher than beef as a percentage of fats that are good for us). At the same time, Yak meat is very low in Palmitic Acid which is bad for us (30% less than beef as a percentage of fats, and 120% less than beef as a percentage of meat).
