Seasons!
Anakin and Azlan at CABA
As the seasons turns from Fall to Winter and I think back on this year with our animals, I am very excited for the upcoming show season and for the crias that will be born on our farm. We were only able to show once last April due to some health issues but our alpacas did great at the CABA show. We showed 4 of our juvies and they all did very well and now, their fleeces are coming back in even better than last year and our beautiful girls born on our farm are now pregnant, bred to some of the males born on our farm and we are very excited to see the gorgeous babies we know are going to be produced. Our bottle fed cria (Spirit) is now 5 months old and he is outstanding. We are so excited about him and the other crias that were born this last year. We feel we have made some good breeding decisions for next year and are looking forward to that. We have some beautiful new herdsires (born on our farm) that have started their breeding careers this year. I think we have around 13 crias coming next year and we can't wait to meet them. We have cut our herd size down to under 40 animals and it has really been hard to let them go. We pray that the people who bought them love them as much as we do. Our Agritourism business has done well and we have a lot of returning clients that we enjoy seeing along with new people all the time. You worry about strangers coming to your place but we have had very respectful and kind people visit. We enjoy sharing our love of alpacas with other people. Our Christmas Wonderland event will be December 14th this year and if it is anything like last year, we will enjoy lots and lots of people.
