February boasts numerous special days, including Valentine's Day, Random Act of Kindness Day, Family Day, as well as personal milestones like birthdays and anniversaries. However, one lesser-known but significant date - the Coldest Night of The Year (CNOY) taking place February 24th this year.
We invite you to join us in supporting the Coldest Night of The Year fundraising walk, a crucial event where volunteers come together to raise funds for homeless individuals across our communities. This nationwide initiative takes place annually on February 24th. To delve deeper into the Coldest Night of The Year initiative, visit www.cnoy.org/greyhighlands.
You might wonder why Kickin' Back Alpaca Ranch and Laslyn Alpaca are supporting the Coldest Night of the Year.
For us, it's a natural fit. Alpaca fibre is remarkably warmer than sheep's wool, making it an excellent choice for those in need of warmth.
There are two ways you can assist us in aiding CNOY.
At Kickin' Back Alpaca Ranch, from February 8th to February 24th, we pledge to donate 10% of all proceeds from alpaca tours booked to support our local Coldest Night of The Year group in Grey Highlands. Booking an alpaca tour during this period not only allows you to celebrate a special occasion or indulge in your love for alpacas but also contributes to a noble cause - Coldest Night of The Year! Remember, your tour can be scheduled for any date, whether it's next week, next month or in the summer or fall but you must make the booking between February 8th and February 24th to make an impact.
Additionally, we offer gift certificates for added convenience.
Concerned about booking too far ahead? Fear not, as we offer rescheduling with 48 hours' notice and full refunds for cancellations made up to 48 hours before your tour.
At our sister company, Laslyn Alpaca, we're introducing another opportunity for you to support those in need in our communities. If you're interested in donating a pair of alpaca socks, hats, insoles, headbands or mitts to CNOY, we'll give you a 25% discount on those items. We'll then reward you with a 20% discount for your own personal use. Get the details at www.laslynalpaca.com/coldest-night-of-the-year. This offer is valid until February 24th, 2024. We're collaborating with our local CNOY representative to ensure the items are delivered to their office.
If you haven't been on a tour with us before, prepare for a heartwarming experience as you interact closely with our alpacas. With 44 alpacas in the girls' barn, including 11 adorable crias aged 6 to 7 months, there's no shortage of cuteness to behold. You'll have the opportunity to feed treats to some of the alpacas, as the crias are particularly curious and friendly. Spend time petting these gentle creatures and capture countless memories with plenty of photos.
After your alpaca encounte, peruse our gift shop, where you'll find a delightful assortment of incredibly warm and cozy alpaca socks, shawls, scarves, mitts, insoles, duvets, and cuddly stuffed animals.
We're open seven days a week, but advance booking is required at www.alpacatours.ca. For the well-being of our alpacas, we kindly request that you leave your dogs at home. We eagerly anticipate welcoming you to our ranch for an unforgettable alpaca experience!
