2020 New additions to the herd
Fall 2020
2020 was a year of growth and a year of change at Averegan. We saw a market for new farms that were looking for proven genetics and bred girls that’s were easy keepers and good moms. So we were able to help set up these farms with some of our older but favourite girls. This left a substantial gap on our own foundation herd. The next few post are going to showcase the newest additions to our farm.
For those of you in the know we added Xanadu P. Resolute as our main herdsire in 2010. Although he had produced wonderfully for me unfortunately he likes to give me mostly males. Supreme champion males I might add but males nonetheless.
As Resolute approaches 15 this year it reminds me that I may not have many more years of offspring from him. So the mission in 2020 was to add Resolute granddaughters to the herd.
First up was Sunnyhill’s Conopas Solo.
Solo is from Snowmass Conopa, and Sunnyhill’s Salute. Salute is a beautiful fine Resolute daughter. Salute has Faith Bar on her dams side, Faith is one of my original females I bought from judge Jane Tellier many years ago. Faith has given me many daughters and multiple champions and supremes. Not the prettiest old girl but what she brings is uniformity and incredible shine to her offspring has been invaluable.
Solo has been bred to MFI &TNT Peruvian Foundation for her first cria in 2021 the crias of Resolute and Foundation is amazing and with Conopa as Solo’s sire this cria is sure to be a knockout.
