One and then Two
Liberty's Gold Medallion
Today, we were lucky to have not one, but two cria born on our ranch! Both share the same beautiful color of fawn – one boy and one girl. Makes one wonder if the hormones were raging since alpacas are such good mothers!
Liberty’s Gold Medallion
This fawn male is from a beautiful Patagonia bred light fawn female and our true black herdsire, The Black Medallion. His fleece, even at a tender age is nothing short of stunning. He has a dark fawn base with vicuna markings, and black skin. With these genetic lines, we are certain that this boy will share a long and lingering fineness in his fleeces for years to come.
Liberty’s Soldier of Love
A different name of a female, but since she is sired by Greener Pasture’s Pearl Jam, we thought it was befitting to honor her sire's namesake - Pearl Jam. Solder of Love is a song from their repertoire – we thought it fit nicely with our patriotic theme. Her dad, Pearl Jam has won many awards in the impressive “white” classes across the country including Judges Choice. He is a Caligula Poseidon son with the attributes of a champion. This female is a dark fawn, her fleece rich with gold & copper tones – pulling the color from her mom, Crescent Moon’s Solana – a producer of champions.
