All American Futurity 2014
For us, going to the futurity show can be compared to going to the Superbowl of all alpaca shows. And may we remind you that the Seahawks won the Super Bowl this year!
The All American Futurity brings together a collection of the best alpaca breeders in the country, and then class by class and color by color – they are judged on their optimum quality and excellence of fleece.
This year, we showed for the first time taking four animals, taking a second place, fourth place and fifth place ribbons in the most competitive and stunning alpacas that we had ever seen. It was a great opportunity to learn and network. Getting to know some of these farms was the highlight of the show!
Every year, the Futurity puts on a big sale – this year’s theme was “Putting on the Ritz” so it was top hats and tails in a classy and elegant fashion. We fell in love with a modern rose grey girl “Graysea” who was co-owned by Majestic Meadows & Magical Farms. She had won six championship banners and was one of the auction’s favorite girls. Of course, we are always in pursuit of quality animals and upgrading our females is our mission to build the best herd possible.
Graysea won the first place and color championship at this year’s Futurity show! That makes seven banners for this fine young female! We are very proud to add her to our foundation herd and so thankful to Jeff & Faye Farley and Jerry & Libby Forstner to purchase her!
