Details
Simpatico's Penelope has a very unique genetic line, in addition to being a very beautiful and flashy llama! She is mostly white but with a big splash of dilute red over her back, upper half of her back legs and even her great big fluffy tail! There are patches elsewhere if you look, like on her face, and the knees of her front legs - what a pretty girl she is!
As we love our Argentine llama combinations, it is only due to Argentine standards that she is called "half Argentine"'. Any amount of Argentine, whether 1/4 or 7/8th is still called "half Argentine"'. Her sire was the famous Argentine Simpatico, a pure and rare llama - being rare due to not having Don Zunca in his family tree!
As for her Mom, Kornerstone's Pia ABSR was one half Argentine - her sire was the famous Argentine Kobra's Kornerstone, who himself was the son of Argentine Kobra himself! Those who know the genetics of Argentine llamas are well familiar with the prolific and rare Argentine Kobra, often looked at as the quintessential Argentine llama phenotype. Simpatico's Penelope, call name "Penny", has a Chilean Mom and pure Chilean grandparents - and the rest of the ancestors are all in Chile! These lines have produced a winning combination in Penny. She is big boned and has that sweet disposition we look for in Argentines. The Chilean influence has brought color and spice to the big Argentine!
What you wouldn't know unless you met her face to face, is that Penny has crystal blue eyes! It is a very exotic look, and rare in the llama world! In alpaca, blue eyes are generally associated with deafness, but this is not the case with llamas. It is just a startlingly beautiful look - come for a visit and look into those stunning eyes of Simpatico's Penelope!
She has been bred to GLNC Hi Rez for a summer 2014 birth - and the day before we left for the Glacier Classic, she had her beautiful daughter! A stunning color of reddish gray, which has been referred to as "brindle" - see her daughter's page on this site! What a fantastic cria!
