New Zealand Kiko Doe
SEV Magnum Surprise
KikoDoe (female)
AKGA# 17P128SEV16DOB: 1/23/20177 yrs
Surprise was purchased from the Severn farm and just like her name, has been a pleasant surprise. Surprise started putting-on weight in late 2019, and is raising triplet 2020 doelings for us, with no help, great bag, and she has maintained good body condition. We purchased her because of her pedigree ( I know- not a good reason) as she is out of one of the early Kiko legends, Magnum - SPK Sunboy Raton 150 (a Moneymaker son). She was named Surprise, because she was born by the donor doe following an AI and ET. One fertilized egg survived the flush in the donor doe.
Surprise struggled to maintain body condition as a 2019 first freshener while raising twins. The Severns' later discovered that Surprise actually had triplets that year, but one was "stolen" by the grandmother that kidded on the same day. This was discovered when they completed DNA testing on the kid. That's six kids in two years.
Surprise lost one of her horns in a accident as a kid.
The photo is an old one, taken prior to our purchase.
