Llama, Other, Bred (Female) | Black
Wildfire has already won 8 contest divisions - a silky jet-black llama, she did very well at the Cascade. She was Grand Champion at 7 months in halter and Reserve in walking fleece. Her fiber is lustrous with an incredible sheen. In Central Oregon Llama Association's 2022 show, she won Grand Champion in walking fleece and has a whole table of ribbons from just 2 shows! She was bred last summer to our own rose gray herd sire Star Best Bet - and on June 8th, 2024, at 10 am, this maiden had a textbook birth of a beautiful jet-black boy! The whole birthing process took 17 minutes! It was awesome! It is common for first time moms to have troubles when giving birth, but all we had to do was sit there and watch. She is the perfect mom. The little boy was quickly standing and then, after nuzzling noses with his mom and all the other llamas, we let them have some space just together for bonding time. We are very impressed with his fleece already. We knew about his mom's fleece having been judged and wondered about the fleece of her potential offspring. There was no gray coloring apparent at the birth from his sire, and this rare completely black fleece is really cool looking!
