MJ is the guard llama of the farm and despite her profession, probably the bestest llama you could ask for personality-wise. She's super sweet and came to us as a retired breeder at the ripe "old" age of 13. She was pretty shy when we got her and had a pretty bad case of a GI worm capillaria and some rain rot on her back. We were able to successfully treat those issues and got her feet trimmed up and now she get to enjoy her golden years looking intimidating in the pasture (despite being a total sweetheart).
She and Ellen have been doing some clicker training to help teach her some new husbandry skills as she hadn't had a lot of handling skills prior to us. She's pretty touchy about her toes still, but is doing great with all other aspects of her training. Shearing went super smoothly and she is enjoying the nice summer heat. Her favorite activities are sunbathing in the pasture and eating grain. We hope she will enjoy her retirement home and live out the rest of her life enjoy the sun, eating delicious llama food and an endless supply of fresh hay!
Don't tell the others but she's definitely our favorite llama on the farm!
