Mona is a large, beautiful, extremely finely fleeced animal. She takes her mothering very seriously. She has mothered two herdsires who reside at Southern Iowa Alpacas. Her 2006 male may very well become a herdsire also. In May '07 she produced a very fine, crimpy female named Camellia that we are very impressed with. All of Mona's cria exhibit fineness (she herself was a 20.8 micron at 6 yrs!)great coverage, brightness, big-boned square large frame, very nice bite and density.
We bred Mona to our stud Adonis this year. It may seem strange to some not to breed a full accoyo to another but Adonis' maternal side is heavy on the Alianza line and Adonis just makes extreme babies and this combo should produce a stunning 1/2 accoyo. They did! Check out the BB girl Amelia.
Mona would be considered for sale to a farm that has a more climate controlled situation than we do here in the great north! We love Mona and she has produced well for us. However, she would appreciate a little more winter warmth as she is 12 yrs old with just a touch of arthritis in one hind leg.
