Description
Trixie is out of Acero Marka's Tess and one of Ameripaca's finest - Acero Marka's George. Trixie's genetics are rare as both her sire and dam live in Canada, and George is used only on a limited basis here in the States.
Trixie has a fine fleece (skin biopsy showed average micron of 22 at 6 yrs of age and an S/P ratio of 10.25:1) and produces crias with well defined locks. She exhibits luster and density (skin biopsy results show density of 48 follicles/sq mm), and a very pleasing head with solid conformation. She has maintained her fineness, which we consider to be a critical component of any seed stock breeding program, and definitely hard to find!
Trixie has been our most solid and predictable female, giving us one lovely cria after the next. In fact, she has become the female that we put our new herdsires on as we can always be certain that she will produce the best of what those herdsires can offer. This year, she is bred to our newest breeding male, Salt River's Gorgeous George - a medium brown boy out of LCA Boots and Salt River's Miley Ray - who at three years of age tested 21 microns across his whole fleece! Additionally, George ranks #2 of all brown Suri males in epds for AFD and #1 for SD. Skin biopsy results are due soon as well.
Trixie is a great milker, which means her crias have good growth rates, and she is an easy birthed and attentive dam. We have Trixie priced low as we realize she is older. But she's plenty healthy and we expect her to have 2-3 more crias in her after "George, Jr. Or Georgina Jr." arrives in 2016!
