Sire:
D'Arcy
| White
|
D'Arcy is the son on Coyo Destini and brother of Super Sam. He has produced several champions in Canada. D'Arcy himself has won Supreme Champion (Canadian) for both fleece and halter.
Dam:
CPeruvian Snappy
| White
|
Snappy is the mother of champions and one of the top females at Aztec Alpacas. Her import record rates her as Excellent, and we could not agree more. She produced many outstanding cria that are show ring winners. Sadly, Snappy was killed by a mountain lion in 2008.
Service Sire:
Maple Brook Barnabus
| AOA# 840936 | White
|
Barnabus takes Get of Sire Win #10 We just got back his EIGHT YEAR OLD HISTOGRAM. 20.0 mic; 3.9 SD; 19.4 CV and 2.2% + 30. Barnabus took Get of Sire at the '09 Great Western Show, the largest show in the US.
Nearly 100 gorgeous Kids on the ground and all knockouts. Our white "Bus" juvenile girl, Cachet, took Color Champ and Judges Choice, best female of all halter champions at the '10 TxOLAN show and took blue at the Futurity in '09.
Barnabus has the best one year alpaca histogram ever seen - 12.8 mic; 2.6 SD; 20.4 CV and 0.3%+ 30! Most importantly, he consistently passed this to his offspring.
His elite fleece is loaded with character, with tight bundling & complete uniformity front to back. Combine this with 9 1/4 pounds of fleece '05 with a 5 1/4 pound blanket. Outstanding for a male this fine.
Description
We purchased D'Anna from the Canadian Futurity sale and she joined our herd with her son Zamboni, by Arctic Ice. She is perfectly balanced, dense, and has a fine handling fleece. She was the top selling female at the Canadian Futurity sale and her son, Impact - who took top prizes - was the high selling male. D'Anna, a Snappy daughter, has already made her impact on our herd with her son Zamboni.
Zamboni has won 4 White Male Color Championship against some very impressive males out of well-known herdsires: El Nino, Hemmingway, Legacy, Archangel, Elite, Invincible, and more. He is currently producing excellent crias who are doing well in the show ring.
D'Anna also produced another stunning male, Shine, out of Escondido's Makulu (and El Nino son) who is just starting his career and took a 2nd in a large class of white males. He has bright, fine-handling silky fleece on a correct, well balanced frame. We are anxious to continue to show him.
The distinct advantages of owning D'Anna is that she has proven herself an excellent producer, she has white-on-white in her background, and she is from rare genetics. There are no other Snappy (one of Canada's best dams owned by Aztec Alpacas) daughters that we know of in the US. These RARE AND PROVEN genetics are sought after by many top breeders who need to outcross to new bloodlines.
D'Anna is bred to Barnabus, a 10x Get of Sire Champion owned by Xanadu Farm. Barnabus is well-known for putting out VERY fine, dense fleeces and many of his off-spring have gone on to win blues and championships. His one year micron was 12.8 and at 8 years it is only 20.0! We think this is an excellent match that is sure to produce an amazing cria. Stay tuned.
