Is he a role player or a front line Herdsire in this herd? Frankly with this kind of quality we're not sure we really care to define him one way or the other. The bottom line is that Avenger is the son of two of the most highly valued and consistent producers in our foundation herd: CCNF Archangel and CPeruvian Stacey. It is not a coincidence that his full sibling, Savannah and her daughter Panamera have likewise been retained in our white foundation herd. Here's the dopey secret to identifying our herd's most valuable lines: find the families where we are consistently hoarding multiple siblings. Avenger's maternal line is unquestionably one of those.
Combining his sire's phenotype, fleece uniformity and long-term fineness with the fiber density of his dam has given us a very interesting Herdsire. Though we have thus far used Avenger here only to breed with colored females (he has a 3" fawn spot on the right side of his neck) with great success, he has sired other white and beige offspring for clients of ours. In all cases though, the early returns on those crias have been extremely promising and may well represent just the tip of the iceberg! It was not by chance that our high selling female at the Priority Auction this past January, CCNF Valencia, was an Avenger daughter. We look for great things from this guy in the years to come.
