Description
Hidden Hill Tesora is one of those alpacas the breeder in me says, 'don't sell her' because she really could be the future of color in our herd. You have to take my word for it, but my eyes tell me this is an extraordinarily fine fleece carrying all the hallmarks of what Tesora's wonderful sire, El Segundo de Royal Fawn, confers with respect to fleece. I would not count out her dam line, either. Her dam, Starry Night's Huaca, is sired by the late, great Silas of Bolivia and Huaca's true black dam, Lanark's Garbo, was possessed of one of the finest handling black fleeces I have about ever had my hands (and eyes) on. As most of us know, truly great foundation herd animals hail from equally strong dam and sire lines!
I honestly believe that Tesora belongs in a dark colored breeding program, and I think she is capable of producing extraordinary grays. Bred to a gray, she did produce a lovely male whose farm name is Fawnzie but given his changing colors throughout his blanket, his registered name will be Turning Point. She is a great dam, had plenty of milk for her cria and birthed easily! Now, that is just what you want.
While we sold Tesora to a very dear friend and customer, we got her back when she exited the business, and we love getting her back. This time she is destined to remain as one of our foundation females, replacing her dam.
