Golden Legend's sire, Caligula's son PCA Accoyo El Nino, was the 2004 AOBA National Get of Sire winner, and so much more. El Nino was in such high demand, that Pacific Crest Alpacas raised El Nino's breeding fee to $10,000, and shortly thereafter eliminated outside breedings entirely. Sadly El Nino has since passed away.
Legend's dam is Sophia del Sol, a classic light rose grey sired by Accoyo Peruvian Camilio; from a P. Guellermo dam. At her first show the AOBA Senior Judge commented on the micro bundling in Sophia's fleece and said, "The only thing wrong with this alpaca is it's not a male!"
Legend has been bred to three grey dams -
they produced one beige cria, and two classic rose grey. One a stunning little Reserve Champion girl owned by Liberty Alpacas, see "Liberty's Antebellum" on their Openherd page; and see her fleece picture at right!
Golden Legend has won 3 Get of Sire classes, including Level 5 GWAS two years running, one of the largest and most competitive shows in the country. His offspring include many Champions and top Futurity award winners. This level of achievement is due entirely to the expert management and breeding selection of Sharon and Frank Loner of Mile High Alpacas. We thank the Loner’s for their great generosity in sharing this genetic treasure with us.
