Doulton had a rough start. He was a bit malnourished when we first got him due to a heavy load of parasites. After his first year, his health improved and he has grown into a handsome stud. Doulton descends from such Accoyo greats as Vengador, Camilio & Royal Fawn. His excellent bite and conformation and commanding presence complement his mild temperment and dense, crimpy, bright fleece. His fleece is exceptionally fine, 15.6 MICRONS! His crimp extends from skin to tip in very high frequency and his staple has very advanced bundling. Check out his stats. *** His fleece was shown to Cameron Holt, THE famous fiber expert, at a fiber seminar. He was impressed with its amazing staple (bundling), high frequency crimp, and exceptional fineness. He called the fiber "just beautiful."***Just after the 2009 Northeast Alpaca Expo, Doulton was evaluated by Mike Safely who said he was a beautiful animal of herdsire quality. He also said less than one out of one hundred males should even be used as a herdsire. We are so pleased with his comments as well as the judge's, Amanda Vandenbosch, praises at the show! It's nice to know we are not barn blind!!!***Doulton continues to consistently place above other animals, with much higher breeding fees, at major shows. Recently, he easily took first above a Zephyrus son and Hemingway offspring in a 2yr+ class although he was the "old man" of the group, which shows he is maintaining his top notch characteristics as he ages. ***Doulton's first crop of cria has arrived and they are truly amazing! His breeding fee is the best value you can find for a nearly full Accoyo male. Come see what he produces. --Poor Doulton had a severe accident. The doc surmised that his foot was stuck in mud while another animal ran into him. His femur was shattered, broken in 5 places. After a long operation and period of recuperation, he's back to normal and breeding again. Check out his progeny and see the faith we have in him. Doulton is aging well and his fiber is still beautiful, crimpy, and soft!
Doulton is currently living out his golden years with his lifelong buddy, Antares.
