Shangri La's father is the late West Coast Legend Accoyo Caligula, All American Alpaca Futurity Herd sire of the Year & National AOBA Get a Sire Winner and his mother is Accoyo Sunipani 2 time National AOBA Fleece Show Winner & National Judges Choice Award,. This same breeding produced Shangri La's full older brother Accoyo El Nino. El Nino is Pacific Crest/Accoyo America's chosen predecessor to Caligula. El Nino's breeding fees was $10,000 until recently when Greg Mecklem completely closed his farm to outside breedings. At the 2006 National AOBA Show, a donated El Nino breeding was Auctioned off for an unheard of price of $16,000.
The apple hasn't fallen far here folks. Like father like Sons. When asked, "Accoyo Shangri La, how do you think your offspring will do against El Nino's" he confidently replied "Hmmmm" and nodded as he welcomes the inevitable rivalry.
To date, this proven Herd Sire has produced offspring of many colors including Maroon, Silver Gray, Rose Gray and Black! They show all the traits one would expect from his Accoyo lineage. We were confident that Shangri La would let color through, but producing offspring that is darker than the Dam was an unexpected bonus.
This boy has the ability to dramatically impart quality and diversity into your herd with his exceptional bloodlines.
We are happy to announce that Autumn Alpacas have joined us in partnership on this elite Herd Sire - Accoyo Shangri La.
