We bought Patagonia's Neruda at the 2007 Futurity Show and Sale and he is now part of our group of elite Herdsires. His previous owners at Alpacas de la Patagonia considered him one of their top three herdsires. Patagonia reserved those herdsires for client use only and as a result, outside breedings to Neruda have ALWAYS been restricted. He was "a cornerstone of their black and grey breeding program" giving them their "FINEST black and grey fleeces that are virtually free of medullated fiber". At 8 years of age his histogram is 23.1m/5.3sd/22.9cv/9.2%>30. Neruda's crias are easily identifiable by their extremely fine fleeces, beautiful heads, substantially thick bone and extensive fiber coverage. With more than 120 crias on the ground, Neruda has proven that when bred to black or grey females, 96% of the resulting offspring have been black or grey in color.
