Award-winning Peruvian Hemingway has made a profound impact upon improving the overall quality of the alpaca outside of South America, & shares a rare niche in the small handful of true impact males.

He arrived in the U.S. as a 3-yr. old in the ‘93 Peruvian importation out of the Royal Allianza herd in Peru, and was selected by and reserved for Roger Haldane of Australia. Roger was extremely impressed with the quality of Hemingway's fleece & was convinced that Hemingway had the potential to impart his fine, lustrous fleece to his progeny.

The 450+ offspring of the Hemingway bloodline have been very successful in the show ring in the US, Canada, and Australia, with hundreds of champions, who will willingly show his beautiful progeny through them.

Hemingway is a big, robust male who yielded over 10 lbs. of fleece from 1 year's growth at last year's shearing. At 14 years of age, Hemingway still had a 23 micron fleece...WOW!!!

Description

Hemingway's done it again; with another exceptional cria…Hemingway's Naomi is excellent in every way. She shines with his genes, with the ‘Hemingway head’, lovely topknot, and perfect spear-shaped ears & a wonderful handle, density, luster, and more!!!

Naomi is very sweet and loves to play, yet she is tall like both of her parents. She’s readily following her beautiful dam's footsteps, by being an exceptional mother with plenty of milk & easy birthing practices.

So far, Naomi has given 75% female cria, ranging between the colors of dark brown, dark fawn, & white, with gorgeous, dense fleece containing lots of crimp, density, and handle.

Naomi will add pervasive fineness and elite genetics to your breeding program, as well as remarkable density and lingering fineness (meaning their fleece stays fine), as she has already done for us.

Naomi's histograms show incredible fineness: Though her first 2 shearings (when she was being boarded) weren't the most impressive (AFD of 20 and 21.4, respectively), look what it has been ever since!: 3rd year: 18.7; 5th year: 18.2; 6th year: 19.5; and 7th year: 18.7!!!!

In June, Naomi produced another gorgeous, sturdy female, through her 5th rebreeding to our Accoyo multi blue ribbon champion -- Snowmass Snow Legend, who has exceptionally dense fleece, and who's sire is the great Snowmass Incaaccoyo Star & grandsire is Snowmaster himself. This little beige beauty has fleece, and tons of it! She is included by Naomi's side for this price, and updated photos will come soon.
