We have been blessed with another beautiful 3/8 Accoyo girl! Morning Sky's Grande Dencia seems to be the result of a match (or re-match) made in the heavens!
Full sister to our multiple blue ribbon winner, Morning Sky's Grande Alera, Grande Dencia exhibits the lovely conformation that Alera also showed at birth, brightness, straight legs, a good bite, and nice staple length. A handspinner also recently commented that Dencia has the type of fleece that she would love to spin - the handle of her fleece is soft, soft, soft!
Dencia has a sweet, sweet, sweet disposition, has the most kissable nose on the farm ( a highly desirable trait) and is very easily handled, making her also of special interest to anyone who is new to the industry. Her photo, titled "Who, me?", shown on our farm page, also took a 2nd place ribbon in the "Cria" category at the 2007 AOBA National Conference Photo Contest, and appeared in Alpacas Magazine! She was also the face of AOBA's Alpaca Clicks.
Dencia's first cria, born May 16, 2009, was a lovely beige female, Morning Sky's Mint's D'Lovely, by El Nino son, ScF Mint D'Or. Her second breeding was to multiple award winning herdsire and Goldsmith son, HHWI Accoyo Craftsman. The result was Morning Sky's Fawna - an alert, spunky, light fawn female with very square conformation and luster in her crimpy fleece. (She's also cute as can be, with big doe eyes - looking like a little deer when she was born - thus, her name!)
