Maggie is the "Grand Dame" of the Que Sera herd. She is a big girl with a big heart, a gentle and curious nature, and soft dense fleece. Her sire, PCA Destino, is descended from Pperuvian Camilio and Peruvian Hemingway. She is a fabulous mother and has given us six beautiful crias. She is our most reliable production female; breeds easily, births easily, is a great milker and a very attentive mother...just does her job - no muss, no fuss. Although she is not producing the staple length she once did, she continues to carry an impressive density and produces a very usable Grade 4 fiber each year. All of her offspring have impressive staples for which they can thank their mama, two of the four are white carrying the spotting pattern, two are a luscious bright white, one (Que Sera Suzie Q) is a beautiful creamy solid fawn who has gifted us with Jasper and Amber, 2 of our most spectacular crias to date! last year Maggie gifted us with Que Sera Vito's River Jordan - a luscious dark brown with grey spots and grey neck and is the spitting image of her paternal grandmother, DPF Macademia ( a bay black beauty who still had a 19 micron at age 9!) We are very excited about breeding River this year to see what we can do with those grey markings. Here's what I love about this business - Maggie's 2010 cria is the most solid white, pink tissued little girl I've ever seen - there's not a hint of color on her anywhere - when you look at her standing in the pasture, she sort of glows.
Maggie was one of the first members of the Que Sera herd. She is a fantastic production female and would be a wonderful addition to any herd whether you are old hands at alpaca breeding or just getting started. We love her to death but find that our herd is a little over balanced with her genetics.
REST IN PEACE, SWEET GIRL. WE WILL MISS YOU ALWAYS.
