Description
Penelope
Sire: Mocha Dillinger
When I first became interested in harlequin, it was because of Billabong, a CO. Dillinger son. Mocha is also a CO. Dillinger son.
Penelope carries that whole Billabong "look". Which should probably rightly be attributed to his sire.
And while Billabong was a stunning and somewhat iconic representative of harlequin, he did not have a slew of harlequin females. (Im lucky enough to own one; Cookie who also has the "look")
That line has lingering fineness and strong staple to compliment a solid frame and strong bone.
Penelope had spent most of her life in a hot and humid climate and was never able to carry a baby to full term. 6 or 7 pregnancies lost.
So she came to me motherless and 12 years old.
I bred her to Man of Mystery in early 2022 and I was pretty darn nervous. I SO wanted her to have the experience of a baby and I so wanted to carry her beauty forward. I figured if it was heat and humidity then I could release her from that burden.
Penelope gave birth to a gorgeous spunky little harlequin girl; first birth of the season and she did a phenomenal job. Like she was born to be a mom. Zero hesitation. Plenty of milk. Just beautiful.
And that baby. Oh Lord. Sage. Light like her Daddy but telltale markings albeit light like her Mom. Sage is incredible IMO.
Penelope will be bred in the beginning of 2024 again. And I look forward to the same outstanding outcome.
I am so happy for this mama. I am thrilled to be able to assist in nurturing this line.
