The judges have recognized the uniformity of Dark Star's fleece across the blanket and into her extremities...and the length of her fleece is another strong point. Her dam was maintaining a very nice length as a 10-year old breeding female, and it measured over 4" long at her eighth shearing! Additionally, she's maintaining excellent fineness. The density, handle, and crimp structure of her fleece are also very strong.

Description

Think this guy might be a good one! Initially, it was hard to ascertain density, but after just a few weeks it’s very apparent in the fleece just next to his skin — very fine with excellent handle and quite dense relative to fineness. Pollux's fleece is what I'd describe as "silky" but so was his dam's when she was born, as were all of the offspring from his dam's maternal line. They tend to take some time to develop, but that second fleece is usually filled with lots of crimp.

His sire, Legends Rising Sun, has incredible matchstick bundles full of a well-defined crimp and brightness, and he's maintaining uniformity and fineness across his blanket. His histogram at 5.9 YEARS old is phenomenal with a Grade 1 fleece! We had the opportunity to see 2 of his first offspring at the 2022 Buckeye Fall Fest and they were stunning! If there had been a third offspring there, he probably would have had a good shot at winning Get of Sire. And, we got to see a 3rd offspring at the 2023 Buckeye Fall Fest (belonging to none other than Randy Strong, and Barb Sodums of Strong Shepherd Alpacas)! Randy assisted in the herd dispersal of Alpaca Palace, and he now says we got a steal of a deal on Rising Sun. I agree. Rising Sun is making phenomenal offspring!!!

Financing Terms

Standard industry contracts are used. Breeding quality alpacas come with reproductive and live birth guarantees. You may take possession of your alpacas once the down payment is received and the “contract for purchase” signed by both parties. Transfer of ownership with ARI will not occur until full payment is received. Financing is available with 25 - 33% down, with up to 24 monthly payments. Buyer must purchase full mortality insurance for alpaca and offspring, if any, naming Man in the Moon Farm LLC as beneficiary on balance due until paid in full. Breedings include 60 day agistment unless otherwise noted. Special pricing often available for multiple alpaca purchases or multiple breeding purchase. Transportation responsibility of buyer. AUCTION & PACKAGED DEAL OFFERS: These are cash only unless different arrangements are made up front. No other discounts apply unless negotiated otherwise.
