Gorgeous, conformationally square, and with lovely fleece with a very soft handle and a solid grey blanket - just a beauty and now also a two time Judges' Choice winner - once in halter (the first grey awarded in the US), and once in fleece, and the 2012 Futurity Color Champion amid stiff competition! Paulina also garnered the Color Champion banner two years in a row at both the Best of the US show and the PAOBA Breeders Showcase! Being a champion as a juvenile is wonderful; continuing to retain those qualities as a yearling and into the second fleece is a bonus and something of which we are very proud!
Named in honor of her granddam, 6P Paulettha, who we lost in February 2010, Paulina is a beautiful example of what this line produces. Almost all have been females, and all have had strong conformation, solid bone and very nice fleece. Paulina's dam, Ainee, won a blue ribbon at the 2009 World Fleece Show as well as halter awards, and her sire is an award winning Dark Shaddow son, so Paulina is following suit!
We've been excited about Paulina since she was born, and it was proved out at her first show, the 2011 Best of the US, where, as the youngest of all of the grey females, she took a blue ribbon and then the Color Champion banner! In her first show of 2012 and as a yearling, Paulina took the blue, Color Champion banner, and the Judges Choice banner in halter! At her first show in 2011, Judge Babs Manion seemed very impressed from the minute that she began inspecting Paulina's fleece, and mentioned Paulina's extraordinary fineness, density, conformation, softness of handle, the similarity between her dark and light fibers - something that is not always easy to achieve in greys, and categorized her as having an elite fleece. Judge Wade Gease was left momentarily speechless and stuttering the first time that he opened Paulina's fleece to judge her as part of the Breeder's Best Three, and said that it was too bad that she wasn't a male! In 2012, judge Peter Kennedy and an apprentice judge from Germany noted her extreme fineness, balance, softness and uniformity. Judge Wade Gease thanked us for giving them the opportunity to experience an alpaca of her quality - a compliment that we truly appreciated. Judge Amanda VandenBosch was heard to say "I just love her!"; judge Helen Humphreys called her "unbelievable". Judge Jude Anderson said that when it came to uniformity, Paulina "has it in spades!" Judge Ken Hibbits wanted to figure out how to fit her into his suitcase on the flight back home. Paulina was also awarded the Judges' Choice award for Best Hand at the 2013 MAPACA Jubilee Fleece Show.
Her 2nd cria, Morning SKY's Spectacular, is a many time MRG CC and RC in halter and fleece. 2018 cria, Morning SKY's Midnight Possum, has great phenotype and lovely fleece. 2019 cria, Morning SKY's Raku is an up and coming herdsire with soft handling fleece. 2021 MSG female cria, DanZe PPParty, is a lovely Reserve Champion.
