Description

Reno came to us when a local farm was closing and they needed to rehome some of their males. He had never been shown, but we adopted him and started performance training. One young lady in our 4-H club especially likes him and works with him every year, and he takes anything and everything she asks of him. So what if he can’t see through the costume? He trusts her and just walks on. He is so sweet and so easy to handle.

When Colton’s Rocky was hurt just a week before Nationals 2022, we switched Rocky for Reno, and Reno, having not worked with Colton in the past, stepped up and stepped up in a big way. They came home Reserve National Champions! Gavin showed him in costume, a costume that has been seen in a few AOA advertisements in the recent past!

As we sort out who Colton will be working with for performance going forward, with Rocky retiring, he will use Reno at Jamboree in addition to Royal.

We are so very proud of Reno. His fiber is turned into one of our best selling yarns too; it’s so dark, and I usually blend it with some silk or merino to make a unique and beautifully soft product that sells out as fast as I can have it made.

While he could be bred, I would suggest using a male with longer lasting fineness and a slightly larger frame size. He has nice density, but he is losing fineness and uniformity as he ages.

He has a forever home here. The 4-H kids would be devastated if he left!
