7/16/2010 She did it again. Caryl gave us another girl. Thanks Caryl, that's quite a track record!
5/29/09 Caryl has delivered her first son. He is a dark fawn beauty (our Snowmass Royal Canaletto's first cria). This little guy is great; crimpy, crimpy fleece with exceptional brightness. We're so impressed with this little guy that we repeated the breeding.
Caryl's 2008 cria will be on our 2009 show string. We go to very few shows each year and only take 3 or 4 of our best to represent us. Kudos to Caryl. Her cria have made the show string two years in a row. That's 3 for 3 of the cria she has given us since we bought her!
This Bolivian import has everything you want in a high quality alpaca;
-fineness
-density
-brightness
-well defined crimp
-solid bone
If you want a show quality female who produces show quality offspring, here's your girl! She is regal with a petite, well proportioned body that will add an air of dignity to your herd. She is beautiful to the eye and soft to the touch. Caryl's cria are pleasant and friendly.
Her 2007 cria, Shimmer, is a stunning white female who made the show circuit with us last year. Shimmer took third at the Buckeye Alpaca show, a level V show. Yeah, white yearling, level V show. It doesn't get any more competitive than that! There were 14 in her class and she beat out many full accoyos. She topped herself at the 2009 Buckeye Alpaca Show. Shimmer took the blue!
Note on Bolivians: They were brought in when ARI's strictest rules were in place; high quality, rare, often overlooked, they make a nice niche. They also make a wonderful out cross with alpacas from other countries of origin, adding their trademark, softness.
Caryl is bred for a full Bolivian cria due in 2011.
