Mateus' dam is a daughter of Teton who is a Uribe son standing at Latah Creek and known for throwing definition of lock. His sire, DPA Don Andreas, is a full Accoyo Torbio son now standing at Royal River Alpaca Farm in Maine whose micron count was an amazing 16.7 at about one year of age. Don Andreas was never shown but has produced multiple champion offspring.
