Casa Del Paca introduces you to our legendary Jesse James! This full Peruvian tuxedo grey male is an easy stand out on the farm and enjoys "meet and greets". Jesse is a beautiful shade of silver with kohl eyeliner and he is spotless. He is one of the few silvers that is maintaining a low micron count. At four years old he was 21.5! Today he is 11 years old and is approx. 24 microns which is amazing for a silver. He has no health issues and he passes on his hearty traits to all of his crias. If you want to breed to an alpaca with "staying" power, you need to come see Jesse!
Jesse can cover any color but brown. When bred to any other colors, he has produced 11 silvers and 1 black! The brown babies are adorable and they usually get a white spot on their forehead like a badge of honor. :-)
Update - Jesse has been bred to five of our dams for 2017 babies. Two of the girls are fawn and that usually means a rose grey baby but we have gotten a modern grey out of this blend as well. (Check out Axl Rose who is a product of Jesse and our fawn dam, Priscilla. He is stunning!) The other two are spotless silver females so we have high hopes for two more solid silvers from him as well. Jesse has a reputation for passing on a solid blanket with light blue fiber when bred to silvers. The last one is black and he makes beautiful silver babies with those as well.
We have high hopes for his drive by breedings in 2016 and can't wait to see what he brings to the other alpaca farms!
Update - Spring 2013 shearing has been completed. Jesse's blanket came in at 4 pounds and his neck fleece was 1.2 pounds. When sheared, Jesse's coloring is almost a pale blue. His fleece is ideal for dyeing or leaving in it's natural color. Fiber samples are available if you are interested in breeding. I will post his histogram results when I get them in.
Jesse was born in October of 2005
