Little Creek Farm Explanation of Road Warrior:
"Road Warrior is among the most prepotent herdsires working today. His crias consistently carry fleeces with the “total package” of desirable attributes: exceptional fineness, winning crimp style, great uniformity, long-staple length, and density. And they carry those fleeces on strong, well-balanced frames. As a group, they have excelled in the show ring and won Road Warrior 7 Gets-of-Sire competitions during the first two years in which he had competing offspring. But we think the primary legacy they will leave is as seed stock, passing their elite genetic legacy on to succeeding generations.
Road Warrior’s sire is the renowned Hemingway-Accoyo Nautilus, whom we particularly prize for the fact that he produces offspring that have fine, high curvature fleeces with long staple length – this is a combination of traits that is often hard to produce in the same animal. Nautilus himself was the result of an exceptional combination of animals – Hemingway, who needs no introduction, and 6Peruvian Sicuani, a top-ranked 1998 importation dam that carried an extremely uniform fleece with a CV at the import of 10.4%. The fact that Accoyo America currently has four Nautilus sons standing stud alongside their famous father is indicative of the reliability with which Nautilus passed on his outstanding attributes, as well as the durability of those prepotencies through succeeding generations.
Road Warrior is co-owned with The Alpaca Ranch of Strawberry Fields and divides his time between the East and West Coast. Please contact either farm for information."
