This accoyo girl has nice luster & fineness that is something her full brother Accoyo Kahuna Giovanni has done for his offspring also. Kisu is out of a nice dam and the phenomenal sire Kahuna! He has an excellent production history, was herdsire of the year 5 years in a row, reserve herdsire on each end of those years and won numerous get of sire awards, top EPDs... Her EPDs are top 15% in fineness uniformity and 10% staple length.
This girl was born on the Fourth of July. We believe she was named Kisu, Japanese for kiss. If you are a romantic you would have loved a past breeding. They were sweet young lovers kissing under a tin roof on a rare summer rain. Her first breed was a linebreed on "the" Kahuna. Yukon's dam is a Kahuna daughter also. Livestock experts indicate linebreeds on top producers can really give a genetic jump on the offspring to come. I had said if we were to have a boy, this would be the pairing I would hope for that. Sure enough, Kisu's son "Kiss of the King" got two 1st places and two championships, halter and walking fleece from different judges, at 8 months old! We are excited that he has confirmed pregnancy to see what happens in his offspring.
We decided to see how she will do with a similar genetic pairing that is not a linebreed and hoping to possibly add a little more bone. We then bred Kisu to Yukon's sire, Maccoyo Max. We participated in the S.H.I.P (The Suri Herd Improvement Program) and although her 2017 cria was too young to be evaluated, the evaluator looked him over & commented that he looked nicer than his Champion older brother who got top scores in conformation and nearly all top scores across the board in fleece. So, at the last minute we entered her younger guy in the California Classic halter and he took a 1st place! Admittedly I enjoyed hearing the announcer say, in 1st place, "Kiss my Grits" (his name) We also entered Kisu in Production of dam with her first 2 sons and low and behold a 1st place with Kiss of the King and Kiss my Grits!
Considering she had two super stars in a row of similar lineage, we daringly stepped out in a breed choice and bred her to a guy of Accoyo lineage. Apex Accoyo Bracito's Fromage is top 10% in AFD in EPDs & has great substance of frame. Fromage has Accoyo Bracito, Baron, Ramilo, Uribe, Santiago lineage. He certainly added substance of bone he was a 20lb whopper at birth and grew into a real beauty. We felt we couldn't go wrong choosing a repeat breed with Fromage and are now jumping for joy she just birthed her first girl. We are extremely excited to have a female as so far she has birthed top-contenders. Her EPDs and proof are in her progeny.
Kisu was acquired by Alpacas at windy hill as part of their foundation herd.
