Description

Get ready to knit or crochet your next sweater, baby blanket or shawl with this boy! Spinners with fleece herds take notice--Storm is in the top 15% for his fleece length.

Storm is looking for a new herd to join and would sure enjoy some buddies. Since Earl and Fibby have moved to West Virginia, he is the only male in the barn.

Artik Storm is a handsome, young male with solid conformation easy to handle and excellent on the lead line. He is very tolerant of toe nail clips and is used to being handled often. Storm is also very tidy. During the day when his stall door is open to the paddock, he does his business outside making afternoon chores a little bit lighter. He is a tidy young male and stays very clean.

Our barn has been under construction and Storm has been exposed to construction machines, farm equipment and the associated noises. We have had a barn tour and many friends and family visit the barn, some with children who have met him nose-to-nose. He has been to two shows and had exposure with volunteer students taking him on walks around the show facility. These experiences have been good for Storm and as a result he seems to just take life in stride and does not stress easily.

The 2018 EPDs are in and Storm has moved up to the top 15% for Mean Staple Length. In 2017 his staple length was at 107.6mm. His crimp is bold and fleece displays nice brightness. Storm's 2017 Yocom-McColl's Micron Test Report records his Mean Fiber Diameter at 21.3 microns, SD at 4.2 microns, Coefficient of Variation at 19.9%, Spin Finess at 20.5 microns, Fibers greater than 30 microns at 1.3% and a Comfort Factor of 98.7%.

Storm is an excellent candidate as a Fiber Boy. He may also be your 4H participant for your children, with his ease of handling and good nature.

Transportation can be discussed separately. I am willing to deliver depending on the distance or meet halfway.
